Top Fashion Trends for Spring and Summer Sandals and Shoes
Hi, my name is Shannon and I’m a shoe-aholic. Sandals, oxfords, pumps, flip flops, wedges, booties, shooties and more, I just can’t stop. I like to think of it as my own personal plight of stimulating the economy (strangely, my husband does not agree with my POV).
So….April showers have brought May sandals and wedges and I couldn’t be more like a kid in a shoe-candy store. I’ve surfed the web, browsed catalogs and have bags hiding in my trunk all to bring you, our loyal Busy Bee reader, the must-haves, cannot-live-without Busy Bee Lifestyle Top 10 List of Spring & Summer Shoes (insert applause).
The Oxford
#10 – The Oxford, a timeless classic reinvented by pairing with cutoffs, the beloved boyfriend jean or even a sassy skirt. One word of advice, or maybe more than word, don’t go too far to the leisure look otherwise you’ll need scrubs to accessorize ‘em
Instead stay close to something along the lines of:
and if feeling especially sassy, don an ‘Oxford’ accent. Movin’ on mate.
Espadrilles
#9 – Espadrille: she’s a warm weather vixen fer sher. We think the higher the better as it gives this old stand-by a current look and feel:
Flip Flops
#8 – Flip Flops don’t need to be beach only. We love the simplicity of flips over at J Crew:
Please remember to either steer clear of white flip flops because of how quickly the footbed becomes mc-nasty or to clean them after almost every use. No one wants to see five black toe prints on rubbery white. Grody.
Cuff Sandals
#7 – Cuff Sandals have been around for a couple of Spring seasons now, but the masses have taken note and now the selection is a plethora of price points and embellishments. We chose because of the price point, color, and consistent fit. Mama Mia.
Gladiators
#6 – Gladiators. Russel Crowe would be jealous of the enormous selection to choose from today. We’ve narrowed it down to these patent leather lovelies from Newport News for a whopping 24 bucks:
and these worn in wonders for a little more than twice that:
Metallic Mania
#5 – Metallic mania. Love metallic sandals. Truth be told, of all the sandals that reside in my closet, metallic has the upper hand and majority. Since I don’t need, but own 3 pair of gold sandals (don’t ask, or email me and I’ll tell you the story) I say go Rose! Rose Gold is more subtle and just as versatile as gold, or silver and even more versatile than pewter or bronze.
Ethnic Sandal
#4 – Ethnic Sandal I heart thee. My pick for the season:
I’ve followed this little beauty all over the web this season and l.o.v.e. it. It goes with everything, puts a smile on my face and dent in my pocket book.
Yellow Fever
#3 – Yellow fever. At the top of the color list this season: yellow sandals. Or yellow bag. Or both, who am I kidding? Yellow is no longer mellow and can add a zing of color to any girl’s wardrobe. Though the hue doesn’t compliment everyone’s skin tone when it comes to shoes and bags it holds no bias and looks fabu on all. Two picks for your purchasing pleasure:
(obviously nothing leftover for the bag with that option) and
Jelly Sandals
#2 – Jelly sandals OMG we couldn’t pick just one so we chose a ton:
Wedge
#1 – Wedge is our numero-uno this season. Granted there are dozens (okay thousands to choose from @ www.shopstyle.com) but we chose Tory Burch’s slim, sleek, less is more (yeah, first time you heard that one, we know) as our gold medal winner.
And with that, I’ve got to shoe-zam the packages out of my trunk and into the house before he gets home.
Cheers,
Shannon

Great shoes! Thanks
The only ones I’m not crazy about are the first ones, the Oxford’s. The rest are cute!
