Tip of the Week - A Book Shelf Upgrade!
A week or so ago, I visited a fabulous Designer Show House and Gardens in Solebury, Pennsylvania. While touring the home, I loved the gorgeous rooms and large scale ideas, but it was some of the smaller touches that really caught my eye and my imagination.
One of my favorite ideas was from a designer who gave a bookcase a more cohesive appearance by covering a random collection of books with simple, yet special paper. The paper used to cover the books looked like pages of antique handwriting drawn from an ink well filled with navy blue ink!
I found some similar and equally attractive options at Durwin Rice, a lovely website for decorative papers and craft supplies. If this idea appeals to you (and perhaps to your messy looking book shelves!) consider the “Italian Script,” “Scrittura” or the “Fluer De Lis” in red, blue or green.
Consider adding this special and super easy touch to your bookshelf décor today!
