Tip of the Week – Dishwasher Double Duty!

Tip of the Week – Make your Dishwasher Double Duty!

Of course we fill our dishwasher everyday with pots, pans, glasses and plates.  Some of us even do this TWICE a day – me for one!  But I often put my dishwasher to use with more unusual items inside!  Here are some household items of mine that make it into the dishwasher on a regular basis:

  • tooth brushes
  • hair brushes and combs (no wooden handles, though)
  • nail brushes
  • kid’s plastic toys, including bath toys
  • kitchen sink scrubbies
  • plastic pet toys (especially Kongs)
  • dust pan and broom (also made of plastic)
  • whisk broom and scrub brushes
  • kids paint brushes
  • plastic flip flops

If you are concerned that the water temperature of your dishwasher might affect the items to be cleaned, try using the top rack first!

Get ready to enjoy extra clean household items!  Do you have any ideas to add to my list?  Let me know!
