Fostering Your Women Friendships
As time continues to hurry us along, we often neglect to set aside time to spend with our female friends. This is a BIG mistake! These friendships are essential to our hearts and minds and for our laughter and sanity! Personally, I am extremely fortunate to be surrounded by a strong circle of wonderful women friends, but that circle has been nurtured and strengthened by care and effort. Sometimes that effort has been made by me, and many other times by the care and kindness of my women friends!
One evening not too long ago, I was sitting in a friend’s living room with five or six of these special women and I was struck by the great value of what we had forged together and how much it meant to me! So, here is my tip for this week – work on friendships in the same way that we work through our daily “to do” list. Right next to “shop for groceries” add “call a friend” or “schedule a lunch date!” Celebrate your friends’ birthdays with dinner out! Take turns hosting a quick coffee break! Have a baby shower even if it’s for the 3rd or 4th baby!
And, if you’ve been neglecting your own friendships while dealing with everyday chaos, here are some ideas to help you create new friendships and enhance old ones while experiencing a little self improvement as well! Consider starting a women’s group or club such as any one of the following:
