There’s a lot of talk these days about the state of the economy and along with gloomy predictions, the media is flooded with money saving tips! Not to be left out, I’ve compiled my own assortment of advice for saving money and in some cases, maintaining style!
Text Before You Buy – Google
If you’re out shopping and wondering if the price on the item in your hand is the best price you can find, simply send a text message to Google at 466453 stating “price” and the item you are looking for! ” (ex: price Ralph Lauren polo or enter the UPC/ISBN code directly) Within seconds, you will receive a list of retail stores and websites offering the best price! This could be especially helpful for a big ticket item!
Cut Existing Credit Card and Wireless Costs – Billshrink.com
Do you ever wonder if you’re paying too much for your cell phone or on your credit cards? Check out the fantastic service offered by Billshrink.com! This free site will analyze your bill and usage to determine which services are best for you. Your best options will be highlighted, easily allowing consumers to make the best choice.
Paperless Online Coupons – Shortcuts.com
Shortcuts.com is a website offering free online (and paperless!) coupons. Just enter your store’s loyalty card number and click on the coupons you want. The next time you shop for groceries, the coupons you selected will be automatically applied to your bill! The only downside of this fabulous site is that the list of grocery stores is somewhat limited. A feature of the site will allow you to enter your zip code to determine if there’s a participating store near you!
Send Fabulous Ecards – Flygreetings.com
Skip the trip to the card store and the stamp with the very stylish and fun ecards offered at flygreetings.com! Sending chic (and free!) greetings to friends and family on the fly will definitely save you time and money!
Cook Delicious and Inexpensive Meals – Relishrelish.com
At Relish! meal preparation receives a major overhaul! Each week, choose five entrees and then receive a computer generated and comprehensive grocery list. Thanks for all these tips (especially the “Text before you buy” that I had never heard of).
Another tip I would like to share: Use price comparison websites! You will be amazed by the amount of money you can save on a product you buy.
I have been using Twenga for a while now for buying clothes and it has made me save a lot of money!
