A Bevy of Beach Bags

Reviewing the season’s offerings of beach bags is a terrifically fun job! The bright colors and patterns assure me that summer is truly on its way and that before we know it, I will be taking up residence on my usual pool side lounge chair (even if my lap top is on my lap while doing so!) Here are some of the beach or pool bags that caught my attention this year:

Cabana Striped Tote

Of course you can count on Lilly Pulitzer to offer a punchy, bright tote in the preppiest of colors! These canvas bags comes in blue and white or pink and white stripes with rope handles and a snap out wallet. (Cabana Striped Tote, $128)

Sonia Kashuk for Target

This bag is advertised as a “cosmetic tote,” but I think it would be a perfect beach bag! The pink paisley pattern and metallic silver trim, along with a splash proof detachable plastic pouch, make this bag a terrific beach companion! (Paisley Beach Tote, $29.99)

Vineyard Vines Patchwork

Here’s a great update on the classic Vineyard Vines canvas bags! The new patchwork pattern beach bag combines dozens of their signature prints into an adorable patchwork pattern and finishes the bag off with waterproof nylon canvas handles and bottom! This bag might have to join my collection! (Patchwork Beach Tote, $145)

Totes by Thomas Paul

I love these bright, crisply patterned totes by Thomas Paul! For a smaller tote, check out the blue crab on textured fabric with yellow handles , or if you need to carry more gear, a larger version with a brown and white coral pattern is available! These bags are both like a breath of fresh air!

Traditional Straw Bag

Sometimes the simplest bag is the hardest to find! If you’re in the market for a classic straw tote, you will love this roomy beach bag from Claire V. Hand crafted from corn husks, this bag features an aqua seersucker lining with a drawstring closure, inner zippered pocket and a cell phone pocket. The icing on the cake is the contrasting scarf tied onto one of the handles!
