A Bevy of Beach Bags

Reviewing the season’s offerings of beach bags is a terrifically fun job! The bright colors and patterns assure me that summer is truly on its way and that before we know it, I will be taking up residence on my usual pool side lounge chair (even if my lap top is on my lap while doing so!) Here are some of the beach or pool bags that caught my attention this year:

Sea and Be Seen Tote

These roomy laminated sateen bags from Lilly Pulitzer are available in two perfectly summery patterns and feature metallic silver handles. (Sea and Be Seen Tote, $138)

Vineyard Vines Patchwork

Here’s a great update on the classic Vineyard Vines canvas bags! The new patchwork pattern beach bag combines dozens of their signature prints into an adorable patchwork pattern and finishes the bag off with waterproof nylon canvas handles and bottom! This bag might have to join my collection! (Patchwork Beach Tote, $145)

Totes by Thomas Paul

I love these bright, crisply patterned totes by Thomas Paul! For a smaller tote, check out the navy and green goldfinch pattern , or if you need to carry more gear, a larger version with a brown and white coral pattern is available! These bags are both like a breath of fresh air!

Traditional Straw Bag

Sometimes the simplest bag is the hardest to find! If you’re in the market for a classic straw tote, you will love this roomy beach bag from Claire V. Add a cool surfer vibe to your summer bag wardrobe with this coated canvas beach tote by Roxy! Black, white, pink and priced for an ATM friendly purchase, this bag is just right for sun and sand! (Free Flow Beach Tote, $32.50)

44 Knots

I’ve long loved the fashionable and durable totes that have been crafted from recycled boat sails, but 44 Knots has added some whimsical designs that go beyond nautical! Look for clever motifs including purple or pink octopuses, pink and green peace signs and black skull and crossbones, to name just a few! (44 Knots Tote Bags, Medium, $150)
