It is however recommended that if you do wash them in your dishwasher that you use a non-abrasive detergent, as the handles may lose some of their luster after prolonged exposure. It is so much easier to cut a steak with a pair of scissors than to waste my time with a regular steak knife - my hubby and I find we've started using them for our steaks too before taking our plates to the table.
