My Favorite 10 Cent Item!

dsc00842Tip of the Week – My Favorite 10 Cent Item!

It’s hard to imagine an item that retails for ten cents, never mind one that is a favorite of mine, but it’s true!  At my local Dollar Store (and surely yours, too!) I regularly pick up a package of 10 red and white striped popcorn bags for $1.  I’ve been doing this ever since I’ve found a fabulous array of uses for these ten cent bags!

(You can also purchase these bags on-line for $3.49/dozen, see Popcorn Bags.)

Here are some of the creative ways that I’ve repurposed these classic treat bags:

  • A fun birthday gift when filled with movie candy and a movie gift card or a DVD (this is a great idea for teens)
  • A clever invitation to a movie themed party when filled with a package of microwave popcorn and the party details
  • A cute favor bag for a movie themed event
  • A colorful accessory to a stylish Popcorn Bar)
  • And, as intended, filled with popcorn at a carnival, movie or circus themed party!

For the perfect finishing touch, I like to fold down the top of the bag and punch two holes that are perfect for closing the bag with a perky ribbon!

Add a package of the popcorn bags to your gift wrapping collection and let Busy Bee know how you decide to use them!

My son and I always deliver Maybaskets on May 1st. Since, we deliver so many baskets, I am always looking for inexpensive, but original ideas. I plan on filling the popcorn bags with microwave popcorn and other treats. Thanks for the tip!
