We’re hoping when you read this your kids are back in school, routines have been reestablished, and life is back to normal (say it with me, “Me Time!”).
Summer is over and Autumn is upon us. With that said, let’s jump into September 101.
From Pinstripes to Button Downs
Fashion is giving back this season with a minimalist trend that ‘suits’ every body: menswear.
From pinstripes to button downs, menswear can be interpreted in many fashions (pun intended) all of which suit (again, pun intended) your lifestyle.
The Menswear Trend Has Longevity
Whether borrowing a crisp button down shirt from your husband and belting it over jeans (or better yet a figure flattering pencil skirt) or donning a dapper ruffle front pinstripe blouse, the menswear trend has longevity. If you’ve been reading these posts for the past year, you should have your ‘staple wardrobe’ in place and many of those pieces may be mixed and matched with slightly more masculine silhouettes.
The runways borrowed from the lads with loads of trousers (a personal favorite as they flatter everyone), woolen turtlenecks, vests, and pea coats and the rest of us are more than able to pull such inspirations from an existing closet (even if it’s on our side but HIS).
Be Careful With Piling it On!
One tiny tip, don’t pile too much on at once unless you have the long, lean figure to pull it off (and walk the catwalk) as bulk will have you looking like a line backer verses a savvy fashionista. But overall, it’s hard to go wrong with this classic look (just stay away from the stale fedora and don’t be tempted by the tie).
