Matzoh-Almond Bark Passover Recipe

Matzoh-Almond Bark

Serves 12

Ingredients:

  • 5 to 6 pieces of plain matzoh
  • 1 c. unsalted butter
  • 1 c. sugar
  • 12 ounces semisweet chocolate
  • c. slivered almonds, crushed

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Line a cookie sheet with foil and lay the matzoh in a single layer, covering the entire cookie sheet.
  • In a sauce pan, melt the butter and sugar over low heat.  Raise the heat and boil for 3 minutes.
  • Pour the butter and sugar mixture over the matzoh and spread it with the back of a spoon.  Place the matzoh in the oven for five minutes.
  • Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the matzoh.
  • Return the sheet to the oven for 30 seconds to melt the chocolate.
  • Once again, remove the sheet from the oven and smooth the chocolate evenly with a spatula.  Sprinkle the crushed almonds over the top.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.  Break the bark into pieces and serve.
