Matzoh-Almond Bark
Serves 12
Ingredients:
- 5 to 6 pieces of plain matzoh
- 1 c. unsalted butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 12 ounces semisweet chocolate
- c. slivered almonds, crushed
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Line a cookie sheet with foil and lay the matzoh in a single layer, covering the entire cookie sheet.
- In a sauce pan, melt the butter and sugar over low heat. Raise the heat and boil for 3 minutes.
- Pour the butter and sugar mixture over the matzoh and spread it with the back of a spoon. Place the matzoh in the oven for five minutes.
- Remove the cookie sheet from the oven and immediately sprinkle the chocolate chips over the matzoh.
- Return the sheet to the oven for 30 seconds to melt the chocolate.
- Once again, remove the sheet from the oven and smooth the chocolate evenly with a spatula. Sprinkle the crushed almonds over the top.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight. Break the bark into pieces and serve.
