High School Musical Valentine’s Day Party!
If your children are like mine, they are completely taken with the songs, stories and characters of High School Musical! All three of my crew loved both High School Musical movies and the “On Ice” version! Taking this devotion a step further, I thought that High School Musical would make a great theme for a children’s Valentine’s Day Party!
High School Musical Party Paper Goods
Valentine’s Day is a nice time to have a few of your child’s friends over for an informal get together, without the pressure to entertain grandly or on a large scale as with their birthdays! At Parties4Kids.com, you’ll find High School Musical paper goods, designed especially for Valentine’s Day! With these cute napkins, bowls, cup and paper plates you’ll be all set! You can even find a Valentine High School Musical card game at this site!
Snacks and High School Musical Cupcakes!
For snacks, plan to serve whatever it is that your child likes best!
- Some easy choices include pizza, macaroni and cheese, hotdogs, or chicken nuggets.
- Side dishes can include tater tots, French fries or fruit salad.
- For dessert, you can turn an ordinary cake (from your kitchen or the bakery!) into a High School Musical masterpiece with the High School Musical cake decorating kit from A Perfect Party Zone! The kit includes a cute, and also reusable, CD case and five plastic musical notes! If you’d rather decorate cupcakes, this site also sells plastic rings, depicting the ever popular characters! (aperfectpartyzone.com, $7.99 for the cake accessories, $1.49 for eight rings)
High School Musical Party Games and Activities
Party activities are easy too, given the great number of High School Musical games, toys, CD’s and DVD’s!
- To set the tone for the party, plan to have the movie playing as guests arrive!
- Consider picking up the “karaoke” CD, which plays instrumental tracks from the movie, and supplying faux microphones for a fun sing along! (toysrus.com, $9.98 for the CD; windycitynovelties.com, $8.40 for 12 flashy, glittered microphones)
- Also from Toys r Us, there’s High School Musical Twister, a High School Musical DVD game, and a High School Musical Mystery Date game!
High School Musical Party Favors
Depending on how much you’d like to spend, you can send the girls home with the pretend microphone and a small cellophane bag of Valentine candy or you can splurge on one of the two fabulous finds I spotted on Amazon:
- An “I Love Troy” hairbrush (!) for $12.50 each
- A Valentine paper back book, “Heart to Heart: HSM Stories from East High” for $4.99 each
I think both would be a big hit with this crowd!
I hope that these ideas will help you “get your head in the game” and plan a fun filled Valentine’s Day party for your own High School Musical fans!
