Ghoulish Glam

fleurdelisMacabre is the new black in the world of fashion.  Be it a result of the Twilight phenomenon or the ever reoccurring Goth trend, dark hues are hovering this season so grab your garlic necklaces and stakes.

Black, Charcoal, Plum and White!

Colors to be drawn to include: black, charcoal, plum and white.  Yes white, think Tom Cruise and his frilly shirts in Interview with a  Vampire. In fact, a high neck or ruffle front shirt can be quite the wardrobe staple when done right.  I own a tuxedo blouse from many years past and love it under a shrunken cardigan or peeking out from a motorcycle jacket.  But the first sign of yellowing and the white sucker is a goner.

Macabre Makeup

Macabre makeup is all the rage with black nail polish and black lipstick.  I say Chanel’s Vamp is always a good, solid, safe bet if black toes are a little on the dark side for you.

Fleur de Lis

Fleur de Lis is a Goth influenced trend that keeps on giving by refusing to go away.  A studded fleur de lis shirt can add subtle ghoulish glamour to one’s soccer mom wardrobe.  And for the record there is absolutely nothing wrong with the title: soccer mom.  It’s easier than saying: chauffeur-laundress-chef-tutor-care giver-housekeeper-coach, right?
