Get Ready for the Movie Premier of Spectacular!

Tip of the Week – A Movie Night and a Popcorn Bar!

Tomorrow marks yet another one of those must see TV nights in our house:  the premier of Nickelodeon’s newest movie, Spectacular!  (and yes, the exclamation point is part of the actual title!)  In the spirit of High School Musical and Camp Rock, this film features a cast of fledgling young actors, fun music and lots of dancing, as the lead singer of a rock band joins forces with a show choir.  The action begins at 8:00 p.m. EST.

Have Fun With A Popcorn Bar

And to add the perfect touch to this movie night, or any other, I love the idea of setting up a popcorn bar!  This idea is hot in Hollywood and easy to do at home by simply filling large, preferably clear, glass or plastic containers with several varieties of flavored popcorns.  Plan to offer an assortment that includes plain, savory and sweet flavors.  Scoops for serving, labels on the serving pieces, along with red and white striped paper popcorn bags from your local dollar store will add the finishing touches to your buffet!

Selecting Your Popcorn

Plan to pick up the popcorn at your local grocery store, or try some of these recipes:

You may not be able to pull off this popcorn buffet in time for Monday night’s premier, but keep this idea in mind for all sorts of parties including Super Bowl, Oscar Viewing or just a sleep over!

And most importantly, don’t forget to set your DVR or Tivo to record this movie – it’s looking like one that the kids will want to watch over and over!  Sorry to break the bad news!
