Fall Fashion Fabulosity
Summer is coming to a close and though I am beyond excited for the rug rats to be back in school and someone else’s responsibility 6 hours a day, I am equally excited for my back to Fall shopping! So let’s start thinking less sandals & swimwear and more leather & lace (cue Fleetwood Mac song).
Fall Fashion Trends
No need to cover your child’s eyes, we are speaking strictly of class, no sass here. And no, we are not asking you to pair the two trends together, just pointing out a couple o’ trends en vogue for the Fall season.
Leather
Leather is having a bit of a love affair with fashion at the moment. From biker jackets to bombers, skirts to pants, leather is a lean, mean, styling machine and lucky for us, the trendy bugger is available at a variety of prices.
- For those of you on the coasts – Zara, H & M and Top Shop offer James Dean lovin’ leather in all of the above trendy silhouettes at affordable prices.
- For those of you in the middle – be on the look out at BlueFly.com or sign up for Gilt.com, Ideeli.com, or RueLaLa.com for incredible deals and steals.
Quick footnote, as much as we are looking forward to the Joan Jett bio pic please, use leather one piece at a time, sorry to break it to you, but you are not a rock star (if you are a rock star and are reading this, please leave a comment telling us how fab the blog is).
Lace – Less is More
“Lace” get it straight regarding lace. To use my over used fashion phrase yet once again, less is more. Think of lace this season as almost an accessory of sorts.
- A peek-a-boo moment from beneath a beautifully cut jacket
- mesh detail on a stunning dress
- better yet as leg-wear or an accent on an evening clutch or sensational pump
And though we all secretly envy those wing toting Victoria Secret models, let’s be honest, we are not one (if you are one and you’re reading this, please leave a comment telling us how fab the blog is) so a little lace goes a long, long ways.
The Updated Suit, 1940′s, 1980′s, Fur and Metallics
A few other noteworthy ‘trends du season’ include:
- the updated suit
- 1940’s sheaths, dresses and coats
- the 80’s (shoulder pads and all)
- fur (faux I prefer but either way, it’s in-in-in)
- metallics
Having trouble picturing all this? A quick google search will do you wonders.
And if you are too lazy for that, go to Style.com or Elle.com and they’ll get you dialed in and up to date on Fall’s fabulosity!
