    I am hosting a great retro 40’s brunch with my girlfriends two days after Christmas, we are just going to chillax without the kids, and discuss our holidays. I bought some great dinner ware, 40’s style apron, clothes, accessories, and now all I need is the perfect pair of shoes!{We all have to dress from the 40’s} I am serving a quiche, mamosa’s, fruit, coffee cakes, and some other fingerish foods! I even found some “vintage” tupperware so they can take some goodies to go:} I am more excited about this brunch than I am for Christmas:}

    We will be having the 4th Annual Very Merry K**** Christmas! All our friends and family come to our house, we have a cookie decorating contest, white elephant gift exchange and a hot chocolate bar. It is so much fun!

    Quiet holiday this year with hubby and I (no kids yet). Might plan something for New Year’s, though.

    This year the only entertaining I am doing is for my in-laws, who are coming this Saturday. We are doing finger foods mostly, but will be exchanging gifts and watching “Christmas Vacation” on our big screen for fun!

    My mom and step-dad are coming this weekend to celebrate Christmas and Winter Solstice with us. I am making crockpot veggie meatballs, butter oatmeal cookies, smoked gouda fondue, and stuffed shells w/marinara sauce. Should be a GREAT time!

    The “retr” look is fabulous! I think it will be fun and will lift us up after the brief “let down” after the Christmas hustle and bustle. Thanks so much for this wonderful idea!

    Last year we started a holiday family potluck dinner. It went over so well, I believe it will be our new family tradition. This time of year is crazy, so organization is the key. I did an online search for potluck themes as well as online potluck sign up sheets. I found the forms on http://www.signupgenius.com/christmas very useful and their themes were fresh new ideas. Although I went with the traditional holiday menu, I think my next office potluck will be the “alphabet” potluck party

    We had big plans to go to my brothers house for Christmas, but my hubby had surgery. We invited them to come here but they can’t either. Everybody has already made other plans so it will be very simple for us this year.

    My mom and I are sharing the hosting duties. She is having the party at her house (i.e. she has to clean), but I am doing the cooking. Then I’ll take the food over to her place for the party. It is so much easier to not have to make the house presentable after 2 days of cooking and baking.
