Fabulous Meatloaf

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1/2 large onion, chopped
  • 1 large bell pepper, chopped
  • 3/4 of one small can evaporated milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 and 1/2 packages of crackers (sleeves of a cracker like Ritz)
  • 1 bottle A-1 Sweet and Tangy Steak sauce
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 of a medium sized bottle of ketchup

For Glaze

  • 1/3 c. dark Karo syrup
  • 1/2 c. ketchup
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar

Directions

  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, bell pepper, A-1 sauce, 1/2 bottle of ketchup and tomato sauce.
  • In a small bowl, beat the 2 eggs and add the evaporated milk.
  • Pour into the meat mixture and mix thoroughly.
  • Add enough crackers to make the mixture stick together.
  • This will make enough for 2 meat loaves.
  • Mold meat into two loaf pans.
  • Bake at 350 degrees, approximately 90 minutes.
  • Combine glaze ingredients and pour over the meatloaves.
  • Bake again uncovered until the coating is cooked.
  • Slice and serve!
