What’s for Dinner – Beef Tips in Pink Sauce

Serves 6


  • 2 T. butter
  • ½ c. chopped onion
  • ¼ c. Marsala wine
  • 6 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 t. garlic powder
  • 1 t. Italian seasoning
  • 3 lbs. lean beef stew meat
  • 1 (16 ounce) jar Alfredo style pasta sauce
  • 1 (26 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
  • Pasta


  1. Melt 1 T. of the butter in a large skillet over medium high heat.  Saute onion and mushrooms until soft.
  2. Add a sprinkle each of the wine, garlic powder, seasoning and stir together.  Remove mixture from the skillet.
  3. Add remaining wine, garlic powder, seasoning and butter to the skillet.
  4. Add beef and sauté until browned, about 7 to 10 minutes.  If the skillet becomes too dry, you can add a small amount of water to the pan.
  5. Drain off meat, reserving skillet liquid.  Add the mushroom/onion mixture to the meat.  Stir in Alfredo sauce and tomato sauce.  Stir all together, adding reserved skillet liquid, as needed,. if the sauce is too thick.
  6. Serve over pasta.
