Cooking With Friends

Tip of the Week – Try Cooking with Friends!

As Thanksgiving approaches, so does my level of apprehension about hosting this culinary holiday at my home for the first time!  My mother and aunts decided that it was time to pass the hosting duties down to the next generation, and so I started to plan my menu and worry!  When a dear friend who prepares this meal every year offered to cook with me and share her favorite recipes, I was thrilled!  And then I realized that I was about to engage in something that I had previously encouraged the Busy Bee community to do – Cook with Friends!

The idea of cooking with friends, whether for a special occasion or weekly meals, is appealing for so many reasons!  There’s companionship, shared creativity and resources, not to mention the delicious food!  A friend and fellow website author, Alison Bermack, has elevated the idea of cooking with friends to an art and a personal way of life.  At her website, cookingwithfriendsclub.com,  you’ll find well tested recipes, advice, and opportunities to find fellow chefs!  I highly recommend joining her on-line community,  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CookingWithFriendsClub/, and embracing Alison’s unique cooking philosophy!

Alison has kindly shared her recipe for Fall Squash Soup with Busy Bee!  This recipe sounds delicious and perhaps you’ll consider it for your Thanksgiving Dinner!

And so, with the holidays right around the corner, consider cooking with friends!  Join together and reduce the work load, increase the fun, and if you’re like me, lower your stress level!  If you give “cooking with friends” a try this year, please share your story with Busy Bee!
