Chic Styles on a Shoestring!

George - Women's Print Jersey Sleeveless Dress

Fashionable clothing created by famous designers has never been more affordable!  Many major retail stores have made chic styles available for almost every budget- what a great idea!  Here’s a quick summary of some large chains and the fabulous new lines that they are offering:

Kohl’s - Simply Vera

Takes the first place prize, having added designs by Vera Wang to their store!  Debuting on September 9th, the line entitled Simply Vera, will sell clothing, jewelry, shoes and bedding from this classic designer.  What terrific news! (kohls.com)

Sarah Jessica Parker - Bitten

Long known for her eclectic fashion style, this famous actress turned designer has created Bitten, a clothing line with all prices under $20!  Available on August 10th, Parker states that “Fashion is Not a Luxury – It’s a Right!” and lives up to her word.  (For store locations, check bittensjp.com) 

Target - Go Designer

This retailer had the right idea a while ago when they added Isaac Mizrahi to their stores.  Taking fashion one step further, Target has recruited hot, young designers to sign on for a limited time with their GO Designer.  Full clothing lines have been planned by designers like Proenza Schouler, Patrick Robinson, and now, Libertine.  Keep your eye on these GO designers and you’ll be sure to find a fun, edgy and affordable look!  (Following Libertine, will be British designer Alice Temperly on September 16th.  Don’t wait on any of these clothes, though, because they are really only offered for a limited time!) WalMart - George

Yes, WalMart!  A recent trip to WalMart in search of garden supplies turned into an eye opening experience in the women’s clothing department!  Their brand George is fantastic!  I spotted a casual navy blazer for under $20 that looked just like one that I had paid over $100 for!  Take a look at the George line of solid and print jersey dresses.  You can pick up one of these fashionable and comfortable dresses for a song.  (Prices range from $14 to $19 and women’s plus sizes are also carried.) Sears - Apostrophe

At this major retailer, focus on the Apostrophe brand for the cutest styles!  I especially liked the “circle print” skirt on sale for $17.99 and the “tunic cami” in pretty solids and prints reduced to $12.59!  The line is also available in plus sizes. Most of the clothing on-line at Sears is from the summer season and is on sale – keep your eye out for the incoming fall line!  (sears.com)

Payless Shoes - Lela Rose

Adorable and stylish designer shoes are on their way to this bargain shop in mid-August!  Designer Lela Rose has created a great line of shoes including flats, pumps and boots priced around $25!  If you’ve got a teenager, Payless also offers shoes by American Eagle! (payless.com)
