Call of the Wild

shoesOkay, I have to address animal prints.  Love ‘em but common sense needs to be an accessory when getting gussied in grrrr.

Animal prints aren’t the new black they are en vogue each season. But just because Anna Wintour can wear them head to toe doesn’t mean we all can.

Less is More

Depending upon your size and the size of the print, animal prints can be overpowering and downright tacky.  A less is more approach will have you being the cat’s meow.  Start with shoes and if you are feeling extra frisky add a MATCHING skinny belt.  Matching = same designer, same exact print.  In other words don’t mix and match your first time out on the Tundra.

Evening Gowns or Swimwear

For those a little more versed in the animal kingdom, evening gowns or swimwear can be fabulous.  Just make sure it’s flattering.  Spots, dots and stripes oh my, can make you look larger and louder.

My Personal Favorite

Personally, I’d steer clear of all the above (especially the bikini and the $900 gown) and go for a simple, classic silhouette: a trench coat in animal print.  It’s timeless and adds to the perfect little black dress and it works year round.

So when in doubt about what works and what doesn’t we leave you with celebs sizzling and fizzling in animal prints!
