Tip of the Week: A Derby Day Update!
This Saturday, May 2nd, will be the 135th running of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs! Other than actually donning an oversized hat and cheering on the horses at the track, sipping a mint julep at home is the next best thing! While Busy Bee has a terrific recipe for a Traditional Mint Julep, I recently came across a fresh take on this classic cocktail in Southern Living magazine, Fresh Basil Julep.
Substituting basil for mint and serving the drink in a glass instead of a silver julep cup, Southern Living has given this Derby Day essential a festive make over! Consider mixing up a batch this Saturday!
